Tanis can repair and refurbish used or worn coil wound rotary/cylinder and hand drawn brushes, saving time and money by eliminating the need for a new block, core or shaft construction. Refurbishing can be done multiple times on brushes with a core or shaft construction that is in good condition. We also work to extend the life of the original core and provide additional cost savings by adding durability with a heavier tube wall or solid shaft.

Coil Wound Rotary Brush Repair

To refurbish a coil wound rotary brush on an existing shaft, we remove the worn brush, clean the core and refill it with a new brush. The brush is refilled using the same machining techniques as the original brush, at considerable cost savings. Tanis can also repair journal or stub ends on shafts to provide a new surface for drives and bearings.

Hand Drawn Brush Repair

Hand drawn brushes are a variation of stapled set brushes, but are unique in that the fill material is hand sewn into a metal, wood or plastic block with wire or a nylon cord. The original block or split round core is typically made of steel, aluminum, brass and occasionally wood, plastic, leather or urethane. To refurbish these brushes we cut loose the hand drawn wire, pull out and remove the old fill material and refill with new filament in the original block.
