Stapled Set Flat brushes or block brushes are the most common and widely used brush shape and style. These brushes are produced by stapling rows of filament into a rectangular, square or irregular (asymmetrical) shaped block. Long flat style stapled set brushes are commonly referred to as lag brushes.

These brushes are made-to-order and because they are the easiest and most cost-effective stapled set brush to design and manufacture the customization options are virtually endless. The brushes can also be machined with mounting holes for easy, ready-to-assemble installation. The filament can be stapled straight into the block or at an angle to give the desired brushing effect. The filament is trimmed in the final processing stage to provide a consistent surface and trim height.

The use for flat brushes and lag brushes is extremely broad and generally includes cleaning, leveling, spreading, directing product, transporting materials, harvesting and removing or blocking applications.
